I'd like to see it happen but I don't think it will. Tri Delt's housing board won't have the appetite to take on such an expensive and risky capital project, much less defer an annuity revenue stream for a prolonged period for demo, permiting and construction. Plus, the giving rates for Greek capital campaigns are at an all time low nationally because of all the risk management issues and chapters getting banned left and right. Outside of schools like Alabama which is a clear outlier, fraternity and sorority house construction is slowing way way down, if not grinding to a halt. DDD's alumni support has not been so stellar either, how are they going to find open pocketed alums to donate to a new house when they barely support he current chapter? I can see Tri Delt renovations incrementally, sort of like DG did not too long ago, and renting the house out to another chapter or UA Residence Life. Keep that money flowing. It's a much smarter strategy to mitigate risk and protect their alumni investments.
