To give you an idea of whether extracurriculars matter, we don't make cuts based on whether you have enough ECs or not. However, your ECs and hobbies tell us which active we should have talk to you during rush. And since the actives who rank you are the ones you actually talk to, you're more likely to receive a higher score if you have a lot in common with the active you're talking to. But we won't look at your application and cut you if you don't have enough ECs. (Unless you have none at all) Another way they'll help is if we're specifically looking to recruit more girls involved in a certain type of thing. We want to have a well rounded house which means girls in student government, girls in sports, girls in other things, etc. So if we have a disproportionate amount of girls in government and we want more in sports, we'll specifically look for girls who did sports in HS.
