The funny thing with tiers is that nobody's going to look down on a Pi Phi for not being in A Phi, or a girl in Theta for not being in Kappa. Sororities within each tier are basically different personalities and then ranked in attractiveness. Of each tier, one isn't necessarily better than the other. A hardcore Pi Phi wouldn't want to be an A Phi - she wouldn't fit in and wouldn't enjoy it. Even if A Phi is technically ranked above them, girls end up where they belong. Basically, don't worry about it. If you're in the top six (KKG/DDD/KAO/APhi/PiPhi/DG), you will have mixers with any top frat you want, and you'll never be ashamed of your letters or the fact that you aren't the top of your tier. Even if you aren't in the top six, you still have mixers (nearly all sororities do) and with some of the top frats too (just maybe not all of them). Joining any sorority will give you the opportunity to make new friends in your chapter/other chapters/in fraternities, give you more social life opportunities, and just in general expose you more to campus.
