Wow, I have no words. Greek like was invented to create a space for people of the same social class to meet and network (historically white ppl), and was built on exclusivity based on money, looks, race, etc. Don't believe me? You must have never seen a sorority PC class or heard anything about the rush process. And if you think NU is depressing if you're not in greek life, have you forgotten the thousands of students on this campus who make amazing friends without the help of joining one? And not that it should matter, but I see and say this as someone who would be the perfect stereotypical sorority girl but recognizes that this system was created to benefit me and people just like me. That's not what college is about. Lastly, maybe consider for a second how you would feel if you couldn't afford greek life or were a POC at NU. I bet you wouldn't want to be, so think about that next time you say people opposed to greek life are losers. Have the basic common sense to look past the white saviors on instagram and listen to the POC who are speaking out against a system that hurts them.
