On what you're looking for. Once you start looking at newer/smaller chapters on campus, you have to pick and choose which greek life experiences you are willing to go without. Maybe a spirit group would be more suitable, or maybe not. But remember spirit groups don't usually have a house. A smaller fraternity like dke will have mixers, events, and brotherhood...but will there be huge build parties? no. There are a lot of positives to joining one though. I think someone else said it but there are so many smaller fraternities popping up. OP should give the ones he likes or has been contacted by a shot and just see if he meshes well with the guys.
