A typical student club. Not obsessed with athletics like wranglers. Not as prestigious (I'm isung that term loosely) as Tejas who is pretty much a frat without the social scene. Iron spikes is for students who want to be involved with UT not just their frat. They do a lot for the school. More than frats do. Fraternities do not respect them but the university for the most part does. No social life though. Not at all. But a better option than-I would say the bottom half of fraternities- who are littered with bad apples and TFM wanna be's. However it depends on what you're looking for. If it's a frat then join one cause spirit groups are no where near the same. If you're looking to surround yourself with quality guys who for one reason or another just didn't want to join a frat then there you go. Spirit groups are brotherhood student orgs. Again they are NOT a frat. And people mistake that cause they look similar on the surface. Very strict rules as well that unlike frats they must Follow. It's a student org not a frat remember that.
