I would hope that table manners would be a part of any sleep-away camp experience. It makes the camp experience nicer for all concerned. Table manners were also emphasized at the New England Girl Scout camp where I worked on the waterfront. It's not just a Texas thing. If you look at the Waldemar list, it includes ordinary things like no elbows on the table, chew with your mouth closed, etc. -- just things that contribute to a pleasant dining experience for everyone.
