You are not understanding the Quota system. This is actually to your advantage. Quota is the maximum number a sorority can take, not a required minimum. There is a separate pool for upperclassmen pnm's so that you don't have to compete with freshmen for spots and are considered under your own separate Quota. Your quota is much smaller because the numbers of older pnm's rushing are much smaller but it's all in proportion. You will stand on your own merit, just like any other pnm, without being at a disadvantage for not being a freshman. You really need to contact members you know in sororities. You would be surprised how barely knowing sorority members can actually help an upperclassman during recruitment IF you capitalize on it now. You need to reach out to those members and let them know you are coming through rush and are interested in their house. It will help you stand out and there is no disadvantage to doing this, other than you feeling awkward, but hey, this is recruitment and you need to step up your game here and get on their radar now. Remember they can't read your mind so you need to tell them you're interested.
