Subject:
Fraternity numbers going in 2022 rush

Poster Message:
Based off the information the UT Dean of Students had, here is the number of members per fraternity during Spring 2022. This does not include the new pledge class of 2022. But this is the only information we have to guess how many members each fraternity has. ZBT - 206 Fiji - 198 Phi Psi - 189 Delt - 181 KA - 173 SigEp - 171 Sammy - 141 Kappa Sigma - 140 Beta Upsilon Chi - 133 Sigma Chi - 118 Beta - 97 Pike - 95 TKE - 52 Lambda - 51 Delta Sigma Phi - 50 Acacia - 45 Theta Chi - 43 Delta Upsilon - 37 Zeta Psi - 31 Phi Delt - 24 Phi Kapp - 24 Phi Sig - 12 From what I gathered the established elite 6 are: Fiji SAE SigEp KA Delt ZBT The top 3 are Fiji, SAE, and SigEp. These 6 fraternities get the most rushees and are the ones all incoming freshmen want to rush. They have good relations with the hottest 6 sororities on campus: Pi Phi, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Kappa Alpha Theta, Zeta, Tridelt, and Chi Omega. They throw the biggest parties and whenever they do throw be assured these 6 sororities will follow. Looking into their members, these kids look your stereotype of a "frat boy" with their preppy clothes, voice, and stance. They were the football and basketball jocks in high school and this is their clique. From my personal experience, I believe SAE wins 2022 with their most recent pledge class. The one thing Fiji has over SAE is that most of their pledges, and actives in general, are actually UT Austin students. Following these are the middle pack fraternities that are trying to grow more and compete with the top 6. Kappa Sigma Sigma Chi Pike Sammy Phi Psi Beta These fraternities are similar to the top 6 but have less money and fewer rushees. They're still massive fraternities that get along with all the sororities. It's just that not many rushees choose these 6 as their #1-#3 choices. That being said there is little controversy surrounding these 6 fraternities unlike the top 6. The sorority girls that love these fraternities tend to not like the top 6 fraternities. At least Fiji, and SAE in particular. They're still growing and I can definitely see a few of these competing with Delt, ZBT, KA, and SigEp for a spot in the top 6. For Round Up it is normally these 6 fraternities that steal the show and have the biggest events. Believe it or not, once upon a time Pike and Kappa Sig were at the top of the UT pyramid with Fiji, SAE, SigEp, Delt and KA. They were considered elite in the 70's, 80's, and 90's. Unfortunately, the two dropped in recent years but I give it one or two great pledge classes, and successful mixers with PKT, and they will be back up there. Especially considering ZBT struggles to remain in that elite 6. They just have a lot of members. Next are the bottom ones. These fraternities struggle to put pledge classes together but are working on growing. Lambda TKE Theta Chi Phi Delt DU Phi Kap Phi Sig Acacia Zeta Psi Once upon a time, Phi Delt used to be a massive fraternity at UT. These fraternities struggle to mix with the sororities since the 12 sororities are mainly attracted to the big 12 fraternities. These orgs also don't have the gigantic mansion houses that the other fraternities have so they have pretty small houses for their parties. That being said, the turnout for their parties is massive since they open the doors for kids not in greek life. Overall I think this is a good overview of fraternities at the University of Texas at Austin.
