It is a very different school than it used to be. Tons of really social people who used to get in would not be able to any more. The dynamic has completely changed....lots more girls whose strengths are that they are sweet and smart instead of pretty and social are rushing. So the conversations after Big six and Alpha Phi are decidedly different from those seven. It has created a much bigger divide. I think it is really sad that we are trying to compare and rank the chapters. The ones considered “bottom” like DG and KD just have different strengths. Most of the girls in DG and KD would hate the priorities and morals of some of the “top” chapters honestly. Theta is considered one of top bc they are hot and social.....but they are also wild. Pi phi is considered top also but both of these two chapters are near the bottom for grades. They both have great girls but very different vibe from DG or KD for example. What is considered “top” has just not kept up with the changes in the UT population. Our ranking system really hurts our Greek life! We need to recognize that girls fit in different spots and that is great. Our very diverse population should be reflected and respected in Greek life as well. And just for the record, I am in one of the ones considered “ top” but I sincerely like girls in every chapter where I know them. Different strengths!
