I wish I had focused more on where I felt comfortable during rush vs focusing on rank and reputation. I ended up in a house I loved all week so it worked out perfectly in the end but... I shouldn't have been so upset when a few Big 6 houses cut me because I just didn't fit in there and even though I knew it at the time, my high school was one of the "Big 6 or die" ones and it stung. I was naive to think there was a "Big 6" type of rusher when in reality, the girls in Kappa are different than Zetas and the Pi Phis are different than Thetas and the Chi O's are different than Tri Delts. And I wish I hadn't entered rush determined to get a Big 6 bid or drop out. How foolish! I have friends in like half the houses and across tiers. I'm grateful I got a big 6 bid because I would have stupidly dropped out and missed out on sorority life. I'm a senior and can honestly say that after your first semester, you realize every house is pretty much the same experience, just different groups of girls.
