You are the dumb one. The legislation was changed (SB 175 Passed by the 81st Legislature in Spring of 2009). UT Board of Regents appealed to the State Legislature that they wanted more control of class profiles, therefore they petitioned that the "The Top 10% Rule" be modified so that auto admits only filled 75% of the incoming class. This was granted. Therefore, effective Fall 2011, auto admits only fill 75% of the class (not 90%). Each Fall, no later than September 15, UT notifies Texas high schools of the class rank need for current Juniors to obtain auto admit status (7%, 8%, 9%....whatever). If a student's class rank meets this guideline, they are an auto admit, even if the incoming class yield is "off" and that fills more than 75% of the class. So before you come here pretending you know what you are talking about I suggest you actually know what you are talking about.
