being "of means" and being wealthy are two different things. If you're of means, your parents or at least one of them has an actual job or business and it probably pays well (doctor, lawyer, etc.)...many times these people are overly concerned with social climbing. Wealthy people don't actually work. They either have family money or retired very young from some business venture or investments. They are not living off earned income.
