I've worked at the national level for my sorority. This is how the NPC groups are seen. PiPhi, Kappa, Theta - Elite and wealthy. Typically only at top-notch schools. Theta is beginning to lose ground, especially in the SEC where they have a plethora of weak chapters. XO, DDD - DDD was struggling for a but, but has made vast improvements in the last few years. DG, ZTA, APhi - DG dropped a notch since they have a lot of struggling chapters in the South. APhi has really improved based on some successful colonizations at large schools. ZTA also has had some strong colonizations and has become more selective with their colonizations. ADPi, AXO, KD - ADPi and KD tend to be more regional like the South although KD is making great strides in the West and Midwest. AXO is strong in the West, but not really anywhere else. Gamma Phi, AOPi, Phi Mu, DZ - DZ keeps falling. Phi Mu has some great SEC chapters, but that's it. Gamma Phi and AOPi are colonizing everywhere to the detriment of their other chapters. Resources are spread thin so they have a lot of weak chapters and colonies. AGD, SK, AXiD - AGD has gotten better, but still has more weak chapters than strong chapters. DPhiE, AEPhi - DPhiE is way above AEPhi since they've really tried to diversify where they colonize. SSS, PSS, SDT - Tend to be at small schools. ASA, AST, TPA - Not a lot of money nationally so can't compete with the other NPCs.
