So many people are on here asking about spring rush for sororities/transferring in/re rushing. Even for incoming freshmen, what I'm about to tell you is important! START MAKING CONNECTIONS NOW! Even if it's a little thing like talking to a sorority woman in your discussion, it's good to start somewhere and prove you're normal. GET RECS! There are at least two houses here, that due to their national policy, will not bid a woman unless she has a rec to their chapter. Start looking now - they aren't as crucial as they are at a school such as Alabama or Auburn, but they definitely help your chances. YOUR HIGH SCHOOL/COLLEGE REPUTATION MATTERS! I'm not saying you can't have a successful recruitment if you weren't popular in high school, but definitely be aware of women from your high school that may know current members or alumnae here. If you went to one of the big Greek life feeder high schools in MN or WI (Edina, Minnetonka, Benilde, Homestead, DSHA, Verona, etc) this is extremely important. MAKE YOURSELF STAND OUT! Some of the girls I know that have had the most successful recruitments were the ones that did really unique things outside school such as pageants or sports that aren't as common to see.
