If she maximized her options, that by definition means she didn't "suicide"/SIP. I'm sorry, but questions I have for you, then, are were you really prepared for recruitment? Were you able to hold and carry conversations with sorority women and make good connections with them? Did you rank realistically (houses where you fit best, not necessarily where you aspired to be)? You have to kind of treat it like rounds of job interviews or speed dating. You have to have your A game ready! Are you a sophomore with so-so grades and/or reputation from last year? Were you prepared to accept a bid to ANY sorority on this campus? I'm not saying any of this applies to you, but if it does, that might explain being released from the process entirely. Luckily, when that happens, there are opportunities like COB, and, this year, recolonization with Alpha Xi Delta (but keep in mind, that will be a competitive process as well).
