"Could help new class cohesion b/c all would be freshman and then there is an entire, hopefully similarly sized to the freshman class of uperclassman so that they fit in better and feel they have more of a niche in the house." All the sororities on campus take upperclassmen in their pledge classes now, many over 10 girls, so over 20% of most new pledge classes are already upperclassmen. The whole point of sorority is UNITY as ONE SISTERHOOD, not "niches." "This would be great to even-out struggling houses before the spring so that all houses are more on equal footing for formal rush." If you don't think that freshmen are going to hear rumors all first semester that will steer them away from pledging already "struggling houses" then you live in a fantasy world. "the upperclassmen class will allow empty live-in spots to be more likely to be full in houses with a lot of live-in spots." Most sorority houses do not have space for all members of a pledge class to live in now, so you're suggesting doubling pledge class sizes as well as giving these spots to upperclassmen who probably don't want them as much... doesn't make much sense. "Also, the long winter break gets boring." Speak for yourself. Many girls take advantage of winter break through jobs and internships Overall it seems like you don't want freshmen to rush AT ALL, which I find very hard to believe if you're actually in a sorority here
