It isn't terribly competitive. Obviously houses aren't going to have 50 person pledge classes (Greek life isn't THAT big here- yet) so not every "cool" rushee will fit in with every house. That said, if you are really are a stud, you'll get offers to join multiple of the top brotherhoods. It's kind of like college recruiting for football. You always hear about that top prospect who's deciding between Alabama, Auburn, and Texas and the coaches shmooze him with promises to be surrounded by the best players and programs and they slip him some money under the table or a free school-spirited moped. Now change those schools to frats, players with Brothers, programs with alumni, and money under the table with rush party booze. For the love of God, though, do not try and force rush. Be who you are, not who you think that you need to be to join a fraternity. Your experience WILL suffer because of it I guarantee you. Not every freshman guy is the "frat star" that they end up being in their 6th year. You're freshmen, we get it.
