"pledging" a sorority sophomore year will limit the options of houses interested but most houses will still consider you. pledging a frat first semester sophomore year will also limit your options, but rushing/pledging a frat second semester sophomore year is difficult/unadvised. i would recommend to go for it regardless; nothing to lose and a lot to gain (no matter which house you join)! good luck
