Yup, only a few exceptions to the "less than 50 chapters" rule at UMich - TDX, ADPhi, Chi Psi, Theta Xi, and Triangle - and they all own their houses in Ann Arbor. At some schools, IFCs have a formal extension process, similar to what Panhel does at Michigan. Before another fraternity can show up and attempt to colonize, the other chapters on campus should have to agree that there is a need for an additional fraternity. Currently, we have several less than full chapters and only a few of the numerous colonies end up earning their charters, let alone establishing and sustaining a successful presence on campus.
