The sorority that I'm in is the sorority that I wanted to be in from the very beginning. I knew nothing about any of the sororities going into recruitment, but as I started rush I knew which house I wanted after day one. I was so happy in the sorority at first, and got my first choice on my list for big/little. My big and I were immediately really close and she showed me and told me everything I needed to know about the sorority. After being in the house for one semester, though, I started to think it wasn't exactly what I wanted. I made a list of pros and cons at the start of my sophomore year and decided to stick it out until the next semester. I can't explain it, but something about recruitment from the other side and the incoming pledge class and getting a little changed my mind and made it worth it for me. Recruitment made me want to get the best possible girls for our house and I was able to see my hard work pay off on bid day. I guess it's also because I was finally able to do what my big did for me: pass on my knowledge and show the younger girls why the sorority and Tulane were both so great. I suggest you stick it out until the 2016 pledge class arrives. You'll get to see recruitment from the other side and why it's so rewarding. Then you'll be able to meet a ton more new awesome people and show them the ropes.
