HOW THIS SITE HURTS GREEK LIFE: This site has no system in place for quality control or limiting the number of ratings per person.?The unfortunate outcome is that fraternities and sororities use this site as a tool to launch smear campaigns and insult their rivals.?I think a little friendly rivalry is harmless but it can have unexpected consequences when posted online. Sorority girls can deal with gossip. If they made it through recruitment then they're tough enough.?I know because I made it through recruitment and in the end accepted a bid from my top choice sorority.?I can't even describe how excited I was on bid day. Personally, I would never have taken this site too seriously, but my mother did. As soon as I told her she googled my sorority, read a few slanderous comments, and then that was the end of my greek life. I know this won't stop what's happening here. I just hope that come bid day next year someone else's parent will read this post and maybe be more understanding.
