AEPhi has had a rough couple of years. They used to be very chill, quiet, underground, with lots of fraternity friends. (Think how Phi Sig Sig is now.) Then Phi Sig started getting better and replacing AEPhi as the bro-y, cool, chill sorority. AEPhi faded even more into the background with the introduction of AXiD and the fact that Phi Mu kept getting better and better pledge classes. So AEPhi was basically getting overshadowed and losing all the good girls to Phi Sig, Phi Mu and AXiD. So, though they had been gradually slipping into irrelevancy over the years as other sororities grew and they couldn't keep up, the real nail in the coffin was the fact that they got caught hazing when a new member anonymously reported them, with the help of a few sisters from multiple sororities on campus. (They will deny they did anything wrong until the end of time.) Their rep was shot, and people just gave up on them entirely. AXiD on the other hand, took some extremely unpopular girls in their first pledge class - girls that had been blacklisted from all the other sororities for various reasons, that I won't get into because we all know who they are and what they did and if you don't know, it's over and done with and there's no use embarrassing them further. This first pledge class really turned a lot of people off, paired with some really try-hard behavior. AXiD, though still defensive, can improve. Idk about AEPhi though.
