When you’re old and looking back on your best parts of college, I can guarantee you that you won’t be reminiscing on all the times you were mean on greek rank. I guarantee you won’t be thinking about what sorority or fraternity is the coolest or “accurate rankings”. No, you’ll be thinking about the friendships you’ve made, and how they made you feel. Can we STOP seriously rountinely tearing organizations down for breakfast? I half of AU is so stuck in a high school mentality of “cool” and “uncool”. We go to AU, a very odd school and yet our greek community seems to strive for popularity so much, more than other schools with a larger spirit and greek presence! What are we doing? Stop wasting your time being bitter and instantly judging organizations you’ve quite frankly never had any experiences with. If you were like me as a freshmen, you were on this website trying to figure out how to be cool before you come to AU. And you know what? The best friendships made were the ones you don’t try so hard, and you’ll get here and realize anyone decent doesn’t care! If you’re bitter about getting your organization, and want to tear others down to make yours better, drop or seriously think about why you joined greek life in the first place. If it’s for a feeling of friendship, try to make some in your organization. If it’s for letter clout, drop and re-evaluate yourself. We don’t know what it’s like inside each organization, so to rank based off of bias and outside perspectives is inherently wrong and encourages bullying. I encourage everyone to forget about this website and acknowledge this. Just because someone posts a rumor on here it also doesn’t mean it’s true. if you care about “popularity” or “being cool” wait a year to go to college. You need to grow up and realize those aspirations only make sense or mean anything in movies. You’ll remember your friends when you’re older, and wish you spent more time fostering those relationships or reaching out to new people. Not sitting in your room being mean online, and trying to justify it.
