Ladies, please keep in mind the following things as you prepare for whichever form of recruitment you decide upon in the spring. 1) Going through formal recruitment is the best way of getting to know ALL of the chapters and REALLY find where you belong--just because you have heard good things from sisters in other chapters around the country doesn't mean that the AXiD chapter at AU will resemble theirs in any way, shape, or form. 2) The number of women AXiD chooses to extend bids to in the spring (which is not 50-60) does not increase your likelihood of receiving a bid. AXiD is more concerned about the quality of women they recruit than the number. 3) You cannot say sorority recruitment is fake if you have never experienced it. Greek stereotypes are the reason the community continues to have a questionable reputation, and if you are a potential new member who is propagating that idea, you're only making the problem worse and hurting the community you're trying to be a part of, even if joining AXiD. 4) If you are a prospective new member planning on going through recruitment you CAN and SHOULD go through the third round of recruitment. Your sigma rho chi will explain how the process ACTUALLY works on the night of orientation. My best advice is to just GIVE THE PROCESS A SHOT. If the chapters that are participating in formal recruitment aren't exactly a great fit then PLEASE try AXiD, but keep an open mind about ALL chapters, and go in with the right intentions.
