Autism Speaks does good PR which is why it would be easy for any well meaning PNM to assume they're not a bad organization. And then if they join AXiD, they have a vested interest in saying oh it's out of my organization's control or no you're wrong autistic people NEED our (neurotypical, uninformed) help. It's a pretty crappy catch 22
