before recruitment two years ago, I researched on this website like I had a book report on it. I thought I knew what sorority I’d get, and how I needed to look and act. and, guess what! don’t do that. by the second day, I just acted like myself. I was so tired of being fake. And you know what? I did get cut from places (as you do) but I got cut for the right reasons. I found the org that liked me for me. Not for the wrong reasons. I got an org I cried getting at first, because it hit me how different they were from my social climbing attitude before. And guess what? After a week of being a new member I cried of happiness. I was so happy I got this org, instead of the other ones. It really is a process that puts you with the best group of girls FOR YOU. If the only reason you want a sorority is for clout, for wearing letters and feeling better than others for them, you’re not joining a sorority for the right reasons, and tbh you’ll probably get dropped by everyone. If you, like me, are going through for a support network, empowerment, to be involved on campus, for the friends you’ll have forever, you’re making the right choice. Just be yourself, and EMBRACE THOSE WHO EMBRACE YOU. Stick with it, I’m telling you, the “system” puts you where you’ll thrive the most 9 times out of 10.
