For not necessarily... I don't know about frats, but you still need a 2.8 GPA for sororitys. If a incoming frosh already has 12 credits they are: 1. not a first semester freshman and 2. probably took AP classes in high school and will still need a 2.8 GPA. The original question was: Why Spring rush and not fall rush? During the fall, the frosh can learn about the Greek system and apply that knowledge when they rush in the Spring. Spring rush means faster sisterhood with a more experienced and grounded student. It's a win win for the sorority and the pledge.
