There is an article on Huff Post stating our greek life has been suspended but it is only stating half the facts - UMD suspended fraternity and sorority activities pending an investigation into alleged unsafe hazing practices. It's trying to protect students, especially after the University of Virginia had a student hospitalized after falling backwards down a long flight of stairs during hazing. The suspension will last through the investigation, however long that will take. They can still host non-alcoholic events for old members, but just can't have contact with new members to prevent hazing incidents. Just wanted anyone to know that is still interested in joining a sorority - we are still here and we will still recruit
