Looks are pretty important. They're not the only thing considered, but they are the main thing. Im not sure any sorority specifically ranks looks, but you will get ranked lower if you dont look like the kind of girl they want. Typically the higher you go in rankings, the more they care about looks. That being said, personality is important too. Id say my looks are on par with an upper mid tier sorority, but im in a lower mid tier house because i have major social anxiety and im awkward because of it. It's not something to get upset over though; i feel much more comfortable in the house that im in than i would in others. Higher ranked houses also take a few girls that dont necessarily meet their expectations in looks if the girl seems like she would be fun and social since they want to remain in good standings with the frats. (If youre more quiet, I wouldn't recommend going for these houses). Plus, do you really want to be in a house that's going to judge you so much on your looks? I know if my sisters told me i had to lose 5 lbs before i could wear my letters in public, id be pretty devastated.
