It's kind of hard to say what's "usual", because the Greek situation changes year to year, especially with the addition of new chapters. Last year, a couple of chapters did take winter and/or spring pledge classes (Tri-Delt and Alpha Chi did, don't know about others), but Panhellenic did not host a coordinated spring recruitment like they previously have. In years past, typically 6-8 chapters participate in spring recruitment, with the few "top" chapters who participate only having a handful of spots (think 5-10), where other chapters may have 20 or 30 spots available. Also note that with a more desired chapter that only has a couple of spots available, they are much more likely to have those spots earmarked for women who are already friends with sisters. UCLA Panhellenic changes "total" (the upper limit of size that a chapter can be at) every year after fall recruitment to average chapter size, so by definition, there are usually about half of the chapters with spots available for winter/spring recruitment. Every chapter suffers from some attrition and early graduation during the year, too. I wouldn't be surprised if up to 8 chapters do spring recruitment this year. Chapters that will likely do spring recruitment: KD, Alpha Chi, Tri Delt, AGD (Pi Phi has also usually participated, but I don't know about this year) Chapters that rarely participate in spring recruitment (but a couple always will): Alpha Phi, ADPi, Chi O, DG, Gamma Phi, Kappa, Theta
