Check out SAE ZBT Sig Chi and Sig Ep during rush for sure, they're the houses that a lot of people generally agree are on top. About your second question, it is pretty difficult to get into good parties without being in a fraternity. As far as reputations go, I agree pretty much all the way with what Sperrys said, except I think he downplayed Sig Chi a bit too much, and DG hangs out with ZBT not Sig Ep. Don't stress too much man, and don't read into too much of what you see on this website - its incredibly subjective. Just be yourself during rush and you'll find the right house.
