Subject:
dropping sorority and re rushing?

Poster Message:
Hi, I'm a freshman new member in a sorority here at UCLA. During recruitment I fell in love with another house and they kept asking me back up until the very end, but when I opened my bid card I got the house I put as my second choice. It was one I didn't really feel a connection with throughout rush but they kept asking me back. I was pretty sad, but I decided to really try and give the house a shot. I've been to almost every meeting and event and I feel as if I've really given the house a chance, but I have not clicked with 95% of the girls. I don't feel at home, and hanging out with the girls in my current house feels more like an obligation rather than something I want to do. I know Greek Life is for me, but I do not feel "right" in my current house. Initiation is coming up and I was wondering if it is possible to drop and re-rush as a sophomore next year. Will I be "blacklisted" because I've stayed in my current house this long? Will other sororities even give me a chance or should I just not bother? Please don't reply if you're just going to be rude about my problem; I just don't think staying in my house is fair - to myself or to the house - when I know my heart is not in it.
