You women are vile I’ve never seen such blatant disrespect, slanderous lies, and egregious acts by women in organizations who are supposed to be empowering for our gender. This is why it seems fake. Why doesn’t anybody make these claims to each other’s faces or during recruitment. Most are lies and nobody has the gall to say it to another woman’s face. I didn’t cry all throughout the emotional roller coaster that was rush. I got a house that you people claim is “top” and reading these hateful comments and clearly manufactured tear downs of other houses full of women who were probably so excited to receive their invitation to join a sisterhood is outrageous to me and THAT ladies is what made me cry today. Never have I seen such high disrespect for each other. We demand it from society, from men, but we can’t even manage to give it to each other. WE ALL went through an arduous process and to belittle each other based on where we ended up after the process that is at least 50% out of our control is demoralizing. I know for a fact someone from my own new house was talking about responding and blasting “gossip girl style” as she proudly put it at yesterday’s FIRST chapter meeting. Because of that and reading all the nasty rumors take downs and false accusations on here I will be dropping. I don’t want to be anywhere near this kind of toxicity that’s so well hidden during rush. I’m sorry to the girl who’s spot I may have filled that could have taken it. I’m sorry for believing the sisterhood women empowerment spiel and I’m most of all sorry for all of you that this is your idea of joining a community at a nationally ranked university. College is about learning, please learn and become better. Become all those things these houses say they instill in women. Empower yourselves without tearing anyone down, we face that too much in this world already. I fight back tears because I too thought this was something I wanted and never did I think this horror could be true outside of movies. Well it really is and far worse. I may be ridiculed for this and I wasn’t even planning on writing this much but my emotions are flowing out, realizing how much more devasted I truly am about this than I thought. Look at the big picture ladies and I pray you all can find it in your hearts to love one another and find positivity in each other.
