If you get fired up about making sure your house is ranked 1 instead of 2 or 6 instead of 7, you probably don't like your house and need a ranking to validate your decision for you. Besides, anyone rushing that picks based on this site, PLEASE TAKE THEM so we don't have to. No house worth being in wants someone that cares that much about status. Social climbers suck, and that's actually the most common reason seemingly cool people get dropped from top houses. If you want to know who the "popular" houses are; Kappa, A Phi, DG, and Theta (sororities) will all have at least one event per quarter with all of: Sigma Chi, SAE, Sig Ep, and ZBT (fraternities). Keep in mind that houses have to pay for events (they cost money because they are at separate venues) and this is who these houses are willing to allocate their budgets to. By the end of college, you'll probably know most of the people your same year in these houses if you join one of them. Sig Nu, Lambda, Beta (frats) and PiPhi, Chi O (sororitys) get sprinkled in with the top houses based on how budget for events allows. That being said, it's not like they don't have full social calendars, they just might not consistently have events with the houses listed above. Nobody means to be nasty or is trying to be exclusive. You just want to have events with your friends, and your friends are likely in the houses your house has events with, so its kinda just a cycle and that's why the house "tiers" don't really change. Pick the house you aren't bored talking in and that you aren't stressed about fitting in at. When you are a senior with your group of 10 best friends, you will not care what your house was ranked freshman year.
