In terms of academics, houses require their members to maintain a minimum GPA; failure to do so results in academic probation, when members aren?t allowed to attend social events and must clock mandatory study hours. SOE also requires houses to have a certain proportion of their members involved in extracurricular activities, and the Greek system is excellent for internships and job networking. Let us also mention that each house has its own philanthropy and directly gives back to the community, and Greek housing is cheaper than both the dorms and off-campus apartments. Do I need to say more? Go Greek!
