It sure helps to know half the house before you even get to recruitment. If you're not already friends with these girls, or at least went to the same high school, from the same rich area, or belong to the same cheer team, it's going to be tough. Your chances of getting into an Ivy League college were probably better than getting into Kappa. . . . There are lots of other great houses. Keep an open mind.
