No, the new colony won't take everyone nor do you just sign up to join. It will be a formal recruitment process with interviews and social events. They will be allowed to take up to Tech's chapter total, but they will only take as many women as can meet their colony goals. They'll be looking for women from all four classes, from a variety of majors and hometowns, who are involved on campus and are demonstrated leaders, and most of all women who sincerely identify with AZD's values which you will learn about during their rush. Starting a sorority is an amazing & rewarding experience but not easy and not a "typical" sorority experience. You won't get a Big Sis but they might pair the colony class off in "Twins". You won't be following the traditions of decades of women before you but starting your own chapter tradition. You'll have to woke harder to pull together as a sisterhood. And unfortunately, you'll be in a house that starts as "bottom tier" and works it's way up. It may be considered bottom tier the whole time you're at Tech only to rise a decade or more later. Rush will be harder the first few years as it takes special pnm's to see the value and potential of joining a new chapter.
