Why is only Tech, among all the Big 12, SEC, and even small regional Texas schools, not allow Greek housing? Don't give me that "Brothel" law crap, that's an urban myth, if it was codified then all battered women's shelters, half-way houses, YWCA's etc., would also be outlawed and that type of law would never stand up in a court challenge. I know that in the past it's been because the Lubbock CoC and the University did not want competition for rental/housing dollars but with increasing enrollment, a more diverse cross-section of students from other parts of Texas other than Dallas Metro and small town West Texas, more and more are looking for the "total" college experience and this means those that choose to go Greek, living in their houses. I talk to other campus's and they all admit that our Greek system is getting very strong and well known BUT they always laugh and state our lodge system truly holds us back. What are the thoughts?
