Subject:
rankings after freshman year

Poster Message:
Whether you are in a "high" or "low" ranked house, after your 1st year it really doesn't matter, no matter what ppl on here say. Freshman are very much into the tiers and such because of the Mean Girls, H.S. popularity residue they still have coming from their High School but you will find that it's not something that is a major concern beyond that point. Grad school admitting committees aren't looking at 2 applicants, one with a 4.0, great LSAT,MCAT, GRE, etc. scores, tons of community involvement, and recommendation letters from community leaders and professors and another with a 2.0, poor scores, etc., but hey they were in a top ranked Greek house on our campus we need that one! In a couple of years when the reality hits that soon mommy and daddy are going to expect you to support yourself, the "rank" of your Greek house is a very low priority. With that said, one should go into recruitment, whether it's formal, Spring, or open bidding, with a very open mind and the goal of finding a group of ppl that share your values, who you can eventually come to trust and really care about.
