I'm a Chem E major and I joined a sorority this last year. It's really not that bad at all, you just have to remember to prioritize your time and stay focused. For me, that meant I could spend time with my sisters and do all the events we had in the sorority, but I usually didn't have time to do extra things like go out (although ocassionally I did find the time). I also joined a few other organizations which ended up being more time consuming than my sorority and I made it out fine. Just remember we are all here to go to school. Don't forget that and you'll be fine.
