Well.. SAE is a frat so I'm not sure why you threw sorority in there. But you have to go through rush. There's formal rush in the fall, which is a lot more complex. It's a process over several days where you meet with all the frats and what not, then by the end of it you rank the houses in order of which you want to be in and they give you a bid. If you accept the bid, you become a pledge. You go through a semester of pledgeship and then become an active usually. There's also spring rush, but very few frats participate. Only the ones who don't have enough members.. and usually theres a reason they dont. It's easier and not formal. You just go to their recruitment event, usually a small get together type thing, then if they like you they invite you to their lodge and give you a bid. You can find all this info on the ttu website
