I think there's something to be said for being discreet and private when it comes to grief and mourning. Last year there was a girl at another school who died tragically. She was a pledge of a small non-PH Christian sorority, and several of the actives got themselves on the local news and talked about how loved and missed she was when they barely even knew her. It was cringey to the extreme because it was an obvious bid to raise their profile and their relevance.
