"Bid promising" is a big no in the world of Panhellenic. Even saying things like "were so glad you're back" or "we hope to see you tomorrow" can be seen as bid promising and could get a house fined. So it's really hard to find that balance of trying to be open and welcoming, but also not making seem like you're promising anything. Go through the other side of recruitment and you'll understand how difficult that can be at times. If you were bid promised or lead on in a way and really upset about it, you can talk to panhellenic & they'll do something about it. Also, like someone said in an earlier post, the girl(s) you talked to might've LOVED you, and because of other things (grades, legacy status, personal connections inside the house, etc) that she may not have even known about, it just wasn't the right place for you. I'm sorry you didn't get the bid you were hoping for, but congrats on getting a bid! Your new sisters are so excited to have you! Welcome to being a Greek at Texas Tech, you're gonna love it!
