I rushed last year, and its honestly way more normal than you think. If you didn't have any letters of rec, that can be an automatic cut for some houses unfortunately. Also you can have a 4.0 and a killer personality, but the girl next to you might have a friend in the house and that automatically puts her ahead of you.
