No, there definitely is a difference. The main things that distinguish the top frats are that they have the best houses/parties (may not be a quantity difference, but there is definitely a quality difference) and they are popular with girls. Having a hard pledge process/good brotherhood and being respected by other frats are also important factors, but it's mainly those top two. Pike has all of the above qualities, hence why it is widely known as a top tier house.
