here's the truth: plenty of sophomores rush, but there are a few sororities that are notorious for not taking sophomores. there's also a minimum GPA for a lot of sororities, and sometimes it's higher for sophomores, and it's usually the first cut they make to narrow down PNMs, so if your GPA isn't high enough, you're automatically cut, no matter how many friends you have in the sorority. for example, you say you like chi o, but their minimum sophomore GPA is 3.27, and you say you're under 3, so that's an automatic cut. HOWEVER there are still sororities that might take you. If your GPA is high enough for you to rush (2.5 I believe), that means you still have a chance at a bid, which is great! The biggest set back you're going to have, and you're probably going to think I'm an jerk for saying this but it's true, is your mindset. saying "how do I get into a good sorority?" and "I ended up not getting a bid from a sorority I liked" and "I would probably accept a bid from pi phi and maybe kappa or dg" are all examples of why you're so unhappy now. ALL sororities are good if you give them a chance, regardless of "tier" or whatever bs. With your GPA you'd be lucky to get a bid to any sorority! Go in with a clean slate, not an attitude. brush off what happened last year and get excited to find your sisters!
