There's a few guys I know in Sigma Nu and they're really genuine and laid back. They dispel a lot of negative stereotypes that people have of fraternities. I'm a senior now, and back when I was a freshman, they tended to be a bit more irrelevant, but in recent years and especially now they are rising and have more brothers than a few of the more "respected" fraternities actually (like 35-45?) They've been having some pretty good parties and actually having some social presence on campus in the past year or so which seemed unheard of back when I was a freshman. So I wouldn't count them out. They are some chill folks, at least the ones I know. By no means would I say it's better to be a GDI--don't take it too seriously and just rush the fraternities you click with best and avoid thinking too hard about it. best of luck
