I hate to say it but I find their decision very disappointing. Sigep was in the same situation a few years ago and made the decision to accept their very severe sanctions. Now they're doing very well, even without a house and brothers kicked out. I can't help but think that the decision AEPi made was an irrational and rash one based on frustration and anger with nationals and the university, even if the sanctions are a bit unfair. The off campus path is the easier choice, but I think accepting the crippling sanctions would've been the tougher, yet smarter decision for the chapter. Kids removed from the chapter still could've been friends with the other AEPis. The ones removed really would've had no one to blame but themselves. AEPi may do okay for a few years off campus but I don't think they'll be able to survive let alone thrive in the long term. If the took the sanctions they would've had a rough year or two but their guys that are now freshman would've probably had the chance to see AEPi become good again by the time they're upperclassmen. Also - cheering this news is just pathetic and childish. This could happen to your organization, and very few fraternities could withstand these sanctions. Kappa, Pike and Sigep are still recovering from their 2011 sanctions. Best of luck to AEPi.
