It's totally worth the money and to at least try it! I've found my best friends through my sorority and you can even apply for scholarships if money is an issue! I really wouldn't go into recruitment with houses in mind because you'll be surprised where you might fit in :) If you are not open during recruitment it can really be a lot more difficult. For sophomore the only downside is your GPA must be higher (or above the sororities minimal GPA) as freshman start with a clean slate they have less to look consider when seeing if you will fit in! Not a big issue if your personality shines bright but it is another factor to recognize. As far as the cattiest issue goes; every sisterhood is different so I can only speak for my own. My best bet is that if you are not a catty girl you won't end up in a catty house :) Best wishes!!
